Step Down Intensive Program

Bridging the transition from intensive treatment to independent stability
Completing an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is an important step in recovery and personal growth. However, the transition back to everyday life can be challenging. The structure and support that helped stabilize progress are no longer as frequent, and weekly therapy alone may not feel like enough.
Transitions in care are often where people struggle most—not because they lack skills, but because the structure that supported those skills has changed. This program provides the space to practice, strengthen, and integrate those skills, helping participants move forward with greater confidence and stability.
The Step-Down Intensive Program provides continued support during the transition from an IOP. This short-term program helps participants strengthen the skills learned in treatment, apply them to real-life situations, and build confidence in maintaining progress.
Rather than returning to a higher level of care, we offer a bridge between intensive treatment and independent living, helping participants maintain momentum while gradually increasing autonomy. The added structure accelerates progress by creating space to practice skills, receive feedback, and refine what works—before challenges escalate. Participants are encouraged to continue working with their existing therapist during the program.
This one week program meets on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday
9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Areas of focus include the following:
- Refresh and apply IOP skills in real-life situations
- Build sustainable routines that support mental health
- Practice executive functioning skills to achieve goals
- Identify triggers, early warning signs, and stress patterns
- Strengthen mindfulness and nervous system regulation
- Increase confidence, autonomy, and follow-through

Participants leave the program with a personalized 30–90 day stabilization and growth plan that includes:
- Daily routines that support mental health
- Personal goals and priorities
- Skill practices for emotional regulation
- Strategies for managing stress and preventing setbacks
This plan provides a clear roadmap for maintaining progress after the program ends.
