Introduction to Mindfulness

Join us for a welcoming, experiential introduction to mindfulness practices that support greater awareness, emotional balance, and overall well-being. Designed for beginners and those seeking to refresh foundational skills, this group blends clear psychoeducation with guided, accessible practices that can be carried into everyday life.
Participants will explore what mindfulness is, how it works, and the benefits of practicing present-moment awareness. We will introduce the core “What” and “How” skills of mindfulness, with a special focus on cultivating nonjudgment, self-compassion, and curiosity toward one’s inner experience.
Through gentle guidance, you will practice the following:
- Mindfulness of the breath, including guided mindful breathing and a three-part breath practice
- Mindfulness of the body, with gentle seated stretching to increase body awareness
- Mindfulness of emotions, using a grounding, gratitude-based body scan
- Mindfulness of thoughts, through a guided loving-kindness meditation
The group concludes with a mindfulness tool that offers a practical framework for meeting difficult emotions and experiences with awareness, compassion, and clarity.
This group is educational and wellness-focused, providing practical tools for stress reduction, emotional regulation, and increased self-awareness. No prior mindfulness or meditation experience is required. Open to all adults seeking supportive, integrative mind-body practices.
