SUMMARY:Mind-Body Movement for Self Compassion
DESCRIPTION:Mind-Body Movement for Self-Compassion is a gentle\, experiential workshop that integrates mindful movement\, breathwork\, and meditation to support greater self-kindness\, awareness\, and emotional well-being. \nThe session begins with a brief introduction to the three core components of self-compassion. Participants will learn how self-kindness\, common humanity\, and mindfulness work together to support resilience and emotional balance. From there\, you will be guided through mindful breathing practices to ground and center the nervous system. \nWe will then continue with a gentle yoga practice\, designed to be accessible and supportive for all bodies and experience levels. Movement is offered with an emphasis on listening to the body\, honoring personal limits\, and cultivating compassion toward one’s inner experience rather than performance or perfection. We conclude with a guided self-compassion meditation\, offering space to integrate the practices and leave feeling grounded\, supported\, and reconnected. \nThis workshop is wellness-focused and educational in nature\, providing practical tools that can be carried into everyday life. No prior yoga or mindfulness experience is required. \n  \n  \nFacilitated by Maggie Rooney\, RN \nMaggie has worked as a mental health nurse since 2012 and has continued to deepen her work in the wellness space through certifications in yoga and mindfulness. She is a certified health and wellness coach\, body positive facilitator\, and intuitive eating counselor. Maggie believes everyone deserves to care for themselves in ways that feel authentic and joyful. She is dedicated to helping individuals reconnect with themselves to identify and pursue what they need in order to thrive. Maggie is passionate about fostering mindfulness\, self-compassion\, and joy as tools to support overall well-being. \n
